Hakata Ikkousha always has a bit of a wait on the weekend for a reason - it's really good! The ramen dishes are entirely customizable, yet somehow comes out consistently each time, whether you're visiting the location in Torrance, Costa Mesa, or Little Tokyo. The quality control is high here. I always get the Godfire Ramen, level 4, light taste, soft or normal noodles, and it comes out perfectly each time. This is one of the best ramen I've ever had. Spice and flavor are amazing. Highly recommended.

Their June monthly special Shio ramen is amazing! I would definitely get it again. Their Japanese pudding was also amazing and not too sweet. It reminded me of creme brûlée without the crispy crust. Don't forget to ask for a stamp card!

Hakata Ikkousha has been my go-to ramen spot since I was a teenager back when it first opened up. It is easily my favourite ramen spot in all of the US. I even prefer it to some spots in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Their tonkotsu broth is MILES ahead of other ramen places. I will admit their restaurant is smaller than I'd like but it's because it's so popular without all the tables and chairs, the wait would be hours. Back in the day, I'd wait for hours outside with my friends or family--whoever I took that day to wow them with the best ramen. The staff is so friendly and so attentive. I always felt transported to Japan. I wish they would open more in America because now that I moved away the only times I visit are every 6 months instead of monthly when I was younger. Pro tip: get Very Hard noodles as the broth soaks the broth up also checking in gets you either a free extra noodle or toppings! So worth it :)

One of my favorite ramen restaurants in LA! Authentic Japanese ramen full of rich flavor, paired with delicious toppings. This restaurant can get busy, so best to join the waitlist on your way to the restaurant. It is an authentic dining experience with tables or bar seating. My go to appetizer is the karage which is crispy and juicy. The black devil ramen is my favorite, which is a perfect blend of a rich garlic broth and spicy tonkatsu broth. Such a great pair for a broth. The thin sliced chasu drapes over the bowl, and the pairing of fresh bean sprouts added a cool and crunch texture to the hot and rich broth. The ramen is so good here, I get extra noodles on the side. I like the noodles cooked hard, and I add chili oil and chili flakes to the broth for more kick. Fantastic restaurant serving some of the best ramen in the South Bay of LA!

We came here to try the Flaming Devil, and it certainly lives up to its name! It was the spiciest ramen I've ever had. The broth was thick with spice and every bite was coated in the broth, so there was no escape haha. I thought the meat chunks were fine. Some pieces were chewier or tougher than others, so I prefer their thinner cuts of meat since they're usually softer. The noodles were slightly curly and bouncier than their usual thin noodles. The service was great. The servers regularly checked in on us and the ramen chef asked us how the meal was. If you're curious in trying it, make sure to go before it's gone by the end of May!

We've been loyal customers of this place since we moved to Torrance. We've tried many LA ramen spots, but this one is definitely our most frequented. The service is always spot on, everyone is so friendly, quick, and attentive. The vibes are also great, I love the music taste everytime I go. And of course - the food - ramen is always spot on, broths have great flavor and the appetizers are all a win. There's something for everyone & we've gone with so many different people & they've always loved it!

Hakata Ikkousha is always so consistent. The Tonkotsu Pork broth is very rich indeed. The ramen is one of the best here. The Pork chashu is tasty and perfectly cooked. The noodles is how I love, firm. The staff are always on point.

If you like thick, flavorful, customizable ramen, this is the place for you. Do yourself a favor and order gyoza and karage (Japanese fried chicken), especially the spicy ones, when you are here. You will not regret it. I honestly think they can even open a karage shop because it was so good. Very fresh, well seasoned, and juicy. It comes in a large piece and they give you a scissor to cut into bite size and I assume that's how they preserve all the juice in the chicken. For ramen, our go to is God Fire Ramen. The spiciness and thickness of broth compliments each other so well. Every strand of noodle is coated with the broth when you eat it. You can upgrade/customize your bowl to include more green onion, pork/chashu, and other sides to your liking. The ambience of the restaurant almost resembles a fast paced ramen stalls in Japan. Service is always great. There could be a wait some times, they do utilize Yelp waiting list so that's helpful.

Food: 4/5 Spicy Miso ramen with everything, Tonkotsu char Shu ramen, and fried chicken karaage, Service: 3/5 It's very cold and windy outside, there was no room to even wait inside. There were spaces available, but not being seated. Restaurant itself is a very small space overall. Ambience: 3/5 Very basic. Just eat and go type.
